Blocking time across calendars

Personal events hold the time on your work calendar as "Private" — or any label you choose.

Two calendars, one life: the dentist is on your personal calendar, and your colleagues book over it because your work calendar looks free. Under Calendars → Block time across calendars, link the two: every busy event in the first calendar gets a placeholder in the second, titled whatever you type (the default is Private), with optional details. Nothing else about the event crosses over — no title, no guests, no notes.

  • Blocks follow their events. Move or delete the personal event and the block moves or disappears, usually within a minute, at most at the next quarter-hour check. Change the label and every existing block is renamed.
  • A link is one direction. Want the work calendar to hold time on the personal one too? Add a second link the other way, with its own label (Work, say). Blocks are never mirrored back, so a pair of links cannot bounce placeholders between the two calendars.
  • Only busy events count. Events marked free — most all-day events are, by default — are skipped. An all-day event marked busy (a vacation) blocks the whole day on the other side.
  • Blocks never count twice. LineMerge knows which events it wrote: your availability and merged calendar count the original event only.
  • Blocks are private and quiet: marked private, shown as busy, with reminders off.
  • Removing a link deletes its blocks (past ones stay as history). Disconnecting an account removes the blocks its calendars wrote elsewhere and the ones they hold, while LineMerge can still reach them.
  • Where blocks can go: any connected Google or Microsoft calendar. Phone calendars (the Device Bridge) are read-only, so they can feed a link but not receive one.

Bookings LineMerge adds to a calendar count as busy there and are mirrored like anything else.
