Households: a shared family calendar and booking page
A household shares one busy-time view on any plan; the Family plan adds one booking page for all of you.
Updated
A household is up to five people who each keep their own LineMerge account, calendars and privacy settings, and share one view of when everyone is busy. Create one under Household. You can be in one household at a time.
The shared calendar: every plan, Free included
Members see a lane per person for the next seven days: when each person is busy, never what, unless that person set a calendar to Household · family sees titles. Every calendar you connect is shared with your household by default, as busy time only. To keep one out, click In household next to it on Calendars so it reads Hidden from household.
The household booking page: Family plan
When the owner is on Family ($15 a month for up to five people), the owner can publish one link that offers a time when anyone in the household is free. Each household meeting type says who can host it; leave all unticked for everyone. The booker can pick a person, or leave it on Anyone who's free: the booking then goes to whoever has the fewest bookings that day, and among equals to whoever was booked longest ago. Everyone keeps their own personal page as well.
The household page has its own language setting and its own booker email confirmation setting, which applies whichever member a booking lands with. Members on the Free plan also get Family's features on their own account while they are in the household.
Inviting, leaving, handing over
- Invite by email from the Household page. The link works for 7 days and only for someone signed in with that address. Invitations not yet accepted count toward the five places: revoke one to free a place. Resending one doesn't take another place.
- Leaving stops your calendars being shared with the household immediately. Your account, calendars and bookings are unaffected.
- The owner can't simply leave: make another member the owner first, or delete the household. Deleting removes it for everyone and cancels every upcoming booking made through its meeting types, emailing each booker. Personal bookings are untouched.
