Signing out, and signing out everywhere

You can end the session on one browser, or every session on every device at once.

Updated

Signing in on the web keeps that browser signed in for up to 30 days after you last use it.

Sign out

Sign out, at the bottom of the dashboard menu, ends the session on this browser. It ends on our side too, not only in the browser: the session is deleted, so a copied cookie stops working at once. Signing out of an app does the same for that app.

Sign out everywhere

Under Account & security → Sign out everywhere, one button ends every session on every browser and device, this one included, straight away. Use it after losing a phone or laptop, or if you think someone else has your password. Then sign in again and change your password.

It also cuts off the other things that act for you:

  • The LineMerge phone app is signed out and asks you to sign in again.
  • Paired phones stop uploading busy times until you sign in to the LineMerge app on that phone again; the app then picks up a fresh key by itself (in the Android app, once it is available, tap Sync now if it asks).
  • Merged calendar feed links made before it stop working and drop off the list. Create a new one under Booking page and subscribe to it again. See Your merged calendar in any calendar app.

Not affected: connected Google and Microsoft calendars keep syncing, your booking page stays live, bookings stand, and webhooks keep sending.

Password changes do the same

Changing your password under Account & security, or setting a new one through Forgot password, signs every device out the same way, including the one you are on, and emails you that the password changed. LineMerge also signs every session out on its own if it sees an old sign-in token being reused, which is what a copied token looks like.

Stop answering “when are you free?” by hand
