Moving or cancelling a booking you made
Bookers can move or cancel from the links in their confirmation email, with no account, until the host's notice window starts.
Updated
You can move or cancel a booking made through LineMerge from the links in your confirmation email, without an account, unless the host's cancellation notice has started. This page is for the person who booked.
Where the links are
- The confirmation email has a Move this booking button and a Cancel it here link. Keep that email: the links are personal to your booking, and anyone who has them can change it.
- If the meeting needs the host's approval, the request email has Move it and Cancel it. When the host approves, the confirmation email brings fresh links. The ones in the request email keep working too.
- With a LineMerge account on the same email address, the booking is also under My bookings.
Moving
The picker opens on the day the booking is on now and offers the times the host would offer a new booking, with the same hours, notice and buffers. Pick one and you get an email with the new time and an updated calendar invite. A request still waiting for approval stays a request; its invite comes when it is approved.
Cancelling
The cancel link opens a page that asks you to confirm, because it can't be undone. You get a receipt with a calendar update that removes the event from your calendar, and the time is free for others again.
Notice rules
A host can set a cancellation notice on each meeting type, from 1 hour up to 30 days. Inside that window you can't move or cancel the booking yourself: the page says so and asks you to contact the host. When a type has a notice, the booking form and the confirmation email say how long it is. Once a meeting has started it can't be moved or cancelled from the links, whatever the notice.
What the host sees
The host gets an email saying you moved or cancelled it, and the event on their calendar moves to the new time or is removed. In a group session, the session stays on their calendar for everyone else. Hosts aren't held to the notice window: they can move or cancel at any time, and you are emailed when they do, and texted if you gave a phone number. Hosts' side of this is in Approving, moving, declining and cancelling.
